A Heinkel 111 was shot down and the swastica removed from the tail is now in Edinburgh Castle
The Luftwaffe would generally use either the Stuka dive bomber, the Junkers 88, or the Heinkel 111.
The German's main bombers of WW2 were the Ju-87 Stuka, the Heinkel 111, the Dornier 215 and 217 and the Focke Wulf Condor. The German's main bombers of WW2 were the Ju-87 Stuka, the Heinkel 111, the Dornier 215 and 217 and the Focke Wulf Condor.
The Me 262 and the Heinkel 162 both came out of World War 2
The most common machines bombing Britain were the Luftwaffe's many squadrons of twin engine medium bombers, Heinkel 111's, Dornier 215's and 217's. Stukas were there too, but not in such huge numbers as the Heinkel.
During the Belfast Blitz in World War II, which occurred in April and May 1941, the primary aircraft used by the German Luftwaffe were the Heinkel He 111 bombers and the Junkers Ju 88. These bombers targeted industrial and civilian areas, causing significant destruction and loss of life. The raids aimed to cripple the city's shipbuilding and manufacturing capabilities, which were crucial to the war effort.
The first German plane shot down in World War II was a Heinkel He 111, which was brought down by a British fighter over the town of Wrexham, Wales, on September 6, 1939. This incident marked an early engagement between British and German forces following the outbreak of the war. The aircraft was part of a reconnaissance mission, and its downing was a significant event in the initial phase of the conflict.
Focke-Wulf was simply a brand of plane that the Nazis bought. Other companies included Messerschmitt, Heinkel, and Dornier.
The only Jet plane made in world war II was a messerschmitt Me 262. -> No. There were the jetbomber Arado Ar 234, Heinkel He 178 (first flight ever), Heinkel He 162 and 280, Junkers Ju 287, Messerschmitt Me 163, etc, etc, etc, etc. Not all of them really performed missions, as war ended... but quite a few more than just the Me 262. But I couldn't find any indications of production prizes.
Heinkel HE 219had 2 20MM cannon in wing roots and as many as 4 30MM cannon in a ventral tray under the fusalage.
The Junkers but its also called the German dive bombers! :)
