The name for a priest was flamen (plural, flamines)

The Flamen Dialis oversaw the cult of Jupiter. he was part of the flamines maiores (major priests) who served the three chief Roman gods. The other two were the Flamen Martialis (priest of Mars) and the Flamen Quirinalis (priest of Quirinus).

There were also twelve flamines minores ("lesser priests") who oversaw the cults of other gods: Flamen Carmentalis, (for the god Carmentis), Flamen Cerialis (for Ceres), Flamen Falace (for Falacer), Flamen Floralis (for Flora), Flamen Furrialis (for Furrina), Flamen Palatualis (for Palatua), Flamen Pomonali, (for Pomona), Flamen Portunalis (for Portunes), Flamen Volcanalis (for Vulcan), Flamen Volturnalis (for Volturnus).
