What was ancient mesopotamia's culture like?

The reply is difficult without a time-frame. However, in around 550A.D., those at Mesopotamia were ruled by a wicked and despotic King who married a horrible actress, and together, those two plotted against the Church because the Church teachings made the two nasties feel uncomfortable to be shown that they were sinning awfully. Those two, the Emperor and Empress of Constantinople bribed some Church Bishops and the Pope, although not all of them were able to be bribed and threatened and didn't go to the Council of Nicea in AD 553. At that council, the Pope and SOME not all Bishops, talked about what the Churchfolk should be believe about reincarnation. One of the problems of those days was that the wicked Emperor and Empress were torturing and abusing anyone they wanted to torture and abuse, so that many people were rightfully afraid of going against what the emperor and empress said. The ruling of the Council of Nicea was that "reincarnation is a heresy" yet it was a manipulated thing with some Bishops barred or not invited at all, at the bidding of the two wicked ones, on the grounds that some of the Bishops believed in reincarnation already. On the sacred script I read about this, a rare book, it also stated that THE POPE OF THOSE DAYS DID NOT SIGN THE DOCUMENT, instead, he abstained from the ruling on the same subject. However: I cannot prove the document was unsigned, it's probably in a library at the Vatican. Whether or not the above is true, I cannot gaurantee: yet, I feel the script I read was true, yet I cannot prove it!
