Because they wanted there Pharaohs to be preserved. If you mummify somebody it will make there bodies last longer
The Egyptians believed that the bodies of the dead had to be preserved for the next life, and so they mummified(embalmed and dried) corpses to prevent them from decaying.
its is called mummies
they embalmed the bodies of pharaohs so that the pharaohs had their body for the afterlife
They preserved The Bodies of their dead.
there is not a chemical but more like a sticky sap called resin that was used to embalm or preserve bodies of the wealthy & pharaohs
The preserved body was essential to the afterlife. The Ancient Egyptians believed that Life continued after they died and it was vital to have a body-in perfect condition- to continue living. Death was only the beginning for them. The Pharaohs spent their entire lives preparing for the next, hence their elaborate burials... Clearly, the thought they could take it all with them.
Pyramids
preserving Pharaohs dead bodies and their treasure
The Egyptians believed in an afterlife in a different world, but one similar in many respects. They felt that the body must be preserved for an afterlife to occur. The Egyptians mummified all bodies because they wanted all Egyptians to have a happy afterlife or life after death. Most people think that they only mummified the pharaohs but that is not the case. They just left better presents than for the non-pharaohs or peasants. They also put only the Pharaohs in elaborate tombs such as the Pyramids. They put non-pharaohs or peasants in regular casket-like containers.
Th Pharaohs were embalmed and their mummies were put in sarcophagi.
