Fort benning
Fort Gordon Georgia, former home of the Army's Military Police; and Fort Rucker Alabama, the US Army's Aviation branch. Can't address Alabama, but during WWII Georgia had CAMP Gordon (which was not the home of the MPs), Camp Stewart, Fort McPherson, and Fort Benning, to name only a few. There were also a number of Air Corps/Air Force installations, including Hunter, Moody, Robbins, Bush and Daniel Fields. Presumably the Augusta Arsenal would also be classified as a military installation.
During World War I, infantry training in Georgia primarily took place at Camp Gordon, located near Atlanta. Established in 1917, Camp Gordon served as a key training site for soldiers before they were deployed to Europe. The camp was named after John B. Gordon, a Confederate general, and it played a significant role in preparing troops for combat during the war.
Zoo Atlanta, Stone Mountain Park, World of Coca-Cola, High Museum of Art, Rock City, Little White House, Georgia State Capitol & Museum, Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site, Atlanta Botanical Garden, and the Georgia Aquarium are some of the major tourist attractions in Georgia. You can also see the world's largest peanut if you are driving on I-75 in Ashburn, Georgia.
