Russia's army would prepare to defeat Germany
A democratic form of government was not part of Lenin's plan. Lenin never intended for the new government to be a democratic government, that is, open to all citizens. He believed that it was necessary to keep government in the hands of a small group of like-minded people so that the gains made by the revolution would not be lost. That meant that only members of the Bolshevik Party were going to be allowed to hold high offices in it and the Bolshevik, later Communist, Party would never lose control of the government no matter what the people of Russia wanted. Freedom to oppose his policies was not to be allowed either.

When the Russian Czar stepped down the new provisional government decided to continue Russia's part in WW1 by continuing to fight the Germans. Lenin and his small but powerful Communist Party promised to withdraw from the war as it was causing much destruction to Russia. Lenin had been living in exile from Russia and the Germans promised to get Lenin back into his country if he would end Russia's presence in WW1. The Germans were successful in sneaking Lenin back to Russia and this allowed the Germans to concentrate on the Western Front in France.
Russia was taken out of WW 1 by Lenin, as the part of the deal that took Lenin out of exile in Switzerland. It was a popular move for the Russian people. The drawback was the treaty Lenin had to sign with Germany which was highly unfavorable to Russia.
They both had great impacts on Russia. Lenin played a part that wanted to have everyone equal when Stalin tricked people to get in control. Stalin got to power and dictated, Lenin was a revolutionary who believed in communism. Stalin wanted socialism.
The essential difference between the two is that Kerensky was a capitalist while Lenin was a socialist/communist. Kerensky wanted to continue Russia's part in World War 1 and not change the system of ownership of land. Lenin wanted to end Russia's part in the war and redistribute land from its owners to the peasants that worked them. Kerensky allowed dissent. Lenin did not. Kerensky did not exile, imprison or execute people who did not follow his orders. Lenin did. Kerensky was democratic. Lenin was autocratic.
If you're referring to Vladimir Lenin he was a part of the Bolshevik party which was the first communist party to rule a nation. That government was in Russia and later the Soviet Union. He died in 1924.
