Prince Henry absolutely did not establish a school in Portugal to reach North America. The simplest reason why not is that nobody knew that North America existed. Most people at his time thought that the world was composed of THREE parts, Africa, Asia and Europe. Took a while for some people to even accept that North America WAS a forth part, Columbus himself, to his dying day never thought that he had reached a New World. No, Prince Henry established a Navigator school to help sailors go around Africa and reach the East that way.
Latin America is a cultural region spanning Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean and South America. Considering this is a region spanning whole continents, the main reason of its climate is latitude (closeness to the Equator) and altitude above sea level. Other factor can influence climate, such as air currents and topography.
There does seem to be a pattern showing that the richer countries are in the north, and the poorer countries in the south. While there are some clear exceptions (Australia) it does seem that North America, Europe and Japan are far economically superior to South America, Africa and the Pacific. Perhaps it is because the people of the European region were among the first to develop superior technology and general civilisation. They also introduced these traits to other countries, particularly northern (U.S. and such). This is the only possible reason I can think of. If there are any additions to this, they would be greatly appreciated.
Well, I wouldn't say it "extends". It's just that both boundary lines ... the one that separatesthe northern and southern hemispheres and the one that separates the eastern and westernhemispheres ... happen to both pass through Africa, putting parts of that continent in all four hemispheres.Sure, Africa is a good-size land-mass, but its size is not the reason that it crosses all of thelines into all of the hemispheres. Asia is much bigger than Africa, but is almost completelyin the northern and eastern hemispheres, with only a tiny part in the southern one.
The most obvious reason why there are more people in the Eastern hemisphere than the Western is that the continents of the Eastern hemisphere, Africa, Asia, and Europe, are simply larger, in aggregate, than the two continents of the Western hemisphere, North and South America. At a rough estimate there is twice as much sheer land mass in the east than in the west. Even aside from that, populations are denser in the east. That is more or less an accident of history. Different cultures develop in different ways.
West Africa is the reason we have the music we do now. Africans brought their song to America when they came, then Americans learned those types of music, leading to jazz, rap and other music types.

The reason that Meosaurus fossils can only be found in South America and Africa is that the continents were all together at one time and Africa and South America were touching, at the point Mesosauruses roamed in that area, so when the continents split, the fossils went to different continents.
The first people to keep guinea pigs as pets were sailor's. They brought them to Europe from south America. (Which was perhaps confused with Guinea, in Africa). These little animals were called guinea pigs because of the squeaking, pig-like noises they make.MJC

South Africa needs teachers for the same reason America and Europe and all other countries do, to teach their young how to read and write and educate them for their adult life.
