What was pudsey's origanal colour?

When Pudsey bear first came into production, he was made from a brown fur-like material to represent the dark coulour of most bears. It came to light that this brown material was too expensive to continue re-producing, so a brighter, cheaper and warmer colour was chosen.i.e. yellow.
