What was queen Boadicea's real name?

Boadicea is a misreading by later authors of the way the Roman historian Tacitus spelled her name: "Boudicca". Since the Icceni, Boudicca's tribe, did not leave any written sources, this is very probably how her name sounded to Roman ears when they heard it.

The Icceni tribe was Celtic, so there may be some basis in the way the Celtic Welsh spell her name today: "Buddug".
