Tutankhamun's tomb had been raided twice by tomb robbers, but they had only taken small items, some of which had been replaced. However, it was quickly resealed.

The tomb of Pseunnes i is the only pharaoh's tomb ever found that was totally untouched by tomb robbers. However, it is not as well known because there was much water damage to the objects within. Tutankhamun's tomb was full of wonderful treasures which have not been rivaled by any other tomb, and caused a media sensation.

(You can learn more about the tomb of Pseunnes in the documentary "the silver pharaoh")

The only remarkable thing about king Tut's tomb was the fact that it had gone untouched by grave robbers. Tut's tomb therefore shed a huge amount of light on Ancient Egyptian royal life like no other tomb previously discovered had done. The tomb structure itself was actual smaller than most royal tombs, it is likely that a larger one had been planned for him but had not been built at the time of his death and so he was placed in a tomb meant for someone else.
