It is highly probable that Shakespeare's earliest plays were not written with a specific playhouse in mind. He wrote them for whoever might buy them, and at that time, very few playing companies had a permanent home. Apart from Lord Strange's Men (one of whom was the son of the owner of The Theatre) they had no specific connection with a particular playhouse. And even if they did, they performed just as often elsewhere. The staging therefore had to be easily adaptable to any of the venues which were available at the time.
