The author Taylor Caldwell wrote a book about Paul and called him 'The Great Lion of God.' This would clearly tell us he was definitely a 'type A' individual. He had a fairly upper middle class upbringing and learned from perhaps the brightest and most respected Rabbi of his day. He was used to having authority over others yet after his conversion, he apparently humbled himself quite a bit.
