The Girl Guide/Girl Scout Law for each World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) member organization must be based on the WAGGGS Law although some variations are allowed, they must be approved by WAGGGS.

So, depending on which Girl Guide or Girl Scout organization you are asking about, the Law would have to be similar to the WAGGGS Law:

Original Law
  1. A Guide's honor is to be trusted.
  2. A Guide is loyal.
  3. A Guide's duty is to be useful and to help others.
  4. A Guide is a friend to all and a sister to every other Guide.
  5. A Guide is courteous.
  6. A Guide is a friend to animals.
  7. A Guide obeys orders.
  8. A Guide smiles and sings under all difficulties.
  9. A Guide is thrifty.
  10. A Guide is pure in thought, in word and in deed

The ideal and spirit are clearly expressed in the Promise and Law - Fundamental Principles of Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting. To be a Member of WAGGGS, each national Girl Guide and Girl Scout organization must adhere to the fundamental principles expressed within the Promise and Law.

For members of GSUSA the Girl Scout Promise is: On my honor, I will try: To serve God and my country, To help people at all times, and To live by the Girl Scout Law. Other Girl Scout and Girl Guide organizations in other countries have their own promise. See related links for a link to the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts member organizations page. * The word "God" can be interpreted in a number of ways, depending on one's spiritual beliefs.
