When Queen Elizabeth I was on the throne she refused to marry the king of Spain. So he planned to attack the Queen and kill her so that he could rule England and Spain. in the end the armada was a big fail, mainly because the wind had blown them off course which gave the English a chance to take advantage and attack the Spanish in order for them to leave.
