The Battle of Inchon (Korean: ì¸ì²œ ìƒë¥™ ìž‘ì „, Hanja: ä»å·ä¸Šé™¸ä½œæˆ°, Incheon Sangnyuk Jakjeon; code name: Operation Chromite) was an amphibious invasion and battle of the Korean War that resulted in a decisive victory and strategic reversal in favor of the United Nations (UN). The operation involved some 75,000 troops and 261 naval vessels, and led to the recapture of the South Korean capital Seoul two weeks later.[3]
The battle began on September 15, 1950, and ended September 19. Through a surprise amphibious assault far from the Pusan Perimeter that UN and South Korean forces were desperately defending, the largely undefended city of Incheon was secured after being bombed by UN forces. The battle ended a string of victories by the invading North Korean People's Army (NKPA). The subsequent UN recapture of Seoul partially severed NKPA's supply lines in South Korea.
The majority of United Nations ground forces involved were U.S. Marines, commanded by General of the Army Douglas MacArthur. MacArthur was the driving force behind the operation, overcoming the strong misgivings of more cautious generals to a risky assault over extremely unfavorable terrain.
the war was also called the forgotten war
simply because it was north Korea vs. south Korea
The answer is yes, South Korea was in the Vietnam War!
Backed by the Soviet Union and China, North Korea invaded South Korea in an effort to unite the country under communist rule.
As part of a United Nations response to the invasion of South Korea by North Korea.
North Korea has recently declared that it is at war with South Korea. This is not really because of anything South Korea has done, but rather it is an attempt to pressure the international community which has recently enacted economic sanctions against North Korea, in an effort to discourage North Korea from pursuing its nuclear weapons program. North Korea cannot pretend to be at war with South Korea and still conduct business as usual with them. That would not make sense, and would show that the declaration of war is meaningless. Whether North Korea will take the next step, of actually invading South Korea, remains to be seen. If they do, then they will have a real war on their hands.

The Korean war.
Outside of being an infallible ally (although the media may make it look like Korea is anti-US), South Korea assisted during the Vietnam war not just with soldiers but as a supply source.South Korea has assisted the US in every war since then. The effort may have looked minor, but at least diplomatically it meant that Korea backed the US decisions.
