The Scarecrow's math formula was rather funny. It went something like this:
"The sum of the square roots of any two sides of an isosceles triangle is equal to the square root of the remaining side."
I still haven't got a clue what it means. I just know he said it in the movie.
Pythagoras theorem, i think i remember it from school.

"The sum of the square roots of any two sides of an isosceles triangle is equal to the square root of the remaining side. Oh, joy, rapture! I've got a brain!"
For the math enthusiasts out there, this is the correct quote from the movie. The Scarecrow got it wrong.
The scarecrow in the movie The Wizard of Oz recited the Pythagorean Theorem (incorrectly) after he received his diploma. What he says is "The sum of the square roots of any two sides of an isoceles triangle is equal to the square root of the remaining side." The actual theorem is that the square (not the square root) of the hypotenuse of a righttriangle is equal to the sum of the squares (again, not the square roots) of the remaining two sides.
It is the Pythagorean Theorem:
'The sum of the square root of two sides of an isosceles triangle is equal to the square root of the third side'.
In the movie 'The Wizard of Oz', what did the Scarecrow want from the wizard?
Wisdom
Heart
Strength
Brain
Courage

thats such a stupid question how about get a life!
The Making of The Wizard of Oz has 368 pages.
In order to know that there is a mathematical mistake is a reason for why math is necessary in "The Wizard of Oz."Specifically, this is an incident in the beloved 1939 film version but not the original 1900 book edition of "The Wizard of Oz." The Scarecrow feels smarter because of receiving "brains" from the humbug Wizard. He declares that "The sum of the square roots of any two sides of an isosceles triangle is equal to the square root of the remaining side." The statement comes mangled from the Pythagorean theorem that the square of the hypotenuse of a right triangle is equal to the sum of the squares of the two other sides of that triangle.
There's not enough in the question for it to be properly answered.
