The building
It was the Romans who connected their empire by building roads. Specifically, the Roman army did the work.
The dome of Pantheon in Rome is made of roman concrete and it is still the largest unreinforced concrete dome in the word. It is the best-preserved of all Ancient Roman building in the city of Rome because it was tuned into a Christian church and thus it was maintained properly and was not ransacked for building materials. These days it is mainly as a tourist attraction.
