I just used a can from 1998, it's currently 2012, and it worked fine. Back in my day, 70's/80's, the only expiration date was on dairy products. We would keep other condiments for months and first aid supplies for YEARS. Now-a-days in our wasteful, consumer driven society where corporate profits are more important than anything else, we have a expiration date on everything. Eventually, I expect to see a date on my Hanes boxer's, to inform me when it's time to get a new pair.
