I think Thomas Jefferson got ill but I don't know about John Adams!
Thomas Jefferson and John Adams both died on the same day, on the fourth of July, 50 years, to the day, after the signing of the Declaration af Independence, and Thomas Jefferson died first, but only by a few hours.
