He is only mentioned by that name in a list of the disciples in Matthew 10:3 and Mark 3:18. He was also identified as the brother of James in Luke 6:16. In Acts 1:13 he is clearly identified as the brother of James, the son of Zebedee. Other than these references to him, not much else in known about him.
