Farinelli was the stage name of Carlo Maria Michelangelo Nicola Broschi (1705-1782), a castrato and one of the greatest singers in the history of Opera. He is best known for his appearances in Handel's operas in London during the 1730s. He didn't compose anything, although his brother did.
