Les Paul's 'Log' was the first ever solid body Electric Guitar that was invented, but the first solid body guitar that was mass produced was the fender telecaster which was first known as the fender broadcaster before they changed the name. although some acoustic solid body instruments are found in folk and ethnic traditions around the world. Les Paul the guitarist invented the first solid body guitar and went to Gibson co. to show them his design. Gibson blew him off for over a decade before fender made the telecaster solid body, then Gibson came running back to Les Paul to look at his guitar. they agreed and soon after the Gibson Les Paul model electric guitar was produced, and the rest is history. but to the question the telecaster was the first to be produced but the Les Paul was the first made.

Yes indeed it is!
A solid body guitar is just that, the body of the guitar is made of solid wood, some time one piece or a few, with no sound holes. A semi-hollow body guitar is made more like an acoustic guitar but more shallow, usually with sound holes off to the side rather than in the center as an acoustic guitar would. These sound holes are often in the shape of an "F."
An acoustic is a guitar that is hollow, and has a large hole in the body to create the nice sounds that an acoustic makes. A solid body guitar does not have a hole, and is not hollow. It uses pickups instead of a hole and is usually a lot smaller.
