Actually, a true supercar must have 4 qualities. A huge obscene price tag, amazing speed, it must be a production vehicle, and the last is somewhat vague. It must either be revolutionary in some form, either in design, technology...something - and/or - it needs to be an icon, famous...like the pinup poster car the Lamborghini Countach. The Blitzen Benz was a race car. Most agree that there was no true supercar before the 1950's...but its debatable. In the 1930's there was the Duesenberg...which was enough of an icon to create the phrase "It's a Duesy" That could qualify...otherwise it would probably be the Mercedes Benz 300SL.
