An activity update is issues on the conditions of the volcano every morning through the Hawaii Volcanoes Observatory. This update as well as current deformation, seismicity, and gas emissions are all available through their website.

The US Naval Observatory does offer limited public tours by appointment only. The tours provide insight into the Observatory's mission and history, including its role in providing astronomical data and maintaining accurate time for the US military and civilian sector. Visitors must schedule the tours in advance and follow security protocols during their visit.
