Geography affected the Mayan people by changing the types of food that they were able to grow and by offering stone that allowed them to build their pyramids. Geography also caused massive flooding and damage to the Mayan culture.

Geography affected the Mayans and their activities in a significant manner. Most of the areas they inhabited has volcanic mountains which limited cultivation of the land and this is what forced them to keep moving.

To a large degree, a study of the proportions of the great Inca empire was an extraordinary feat. Its geography, long and narrow winding around mountain obstacles had to make administration difficult. Without the means of horses and carts, it's difficult to see how they managed their wealthy empire.
