28. I got a perfect composite score of 28 even though I scored 27 on one section. I'm not sure when it increased, but it was just a few years after I took it. Then it went up to 32, before finally becoming the 36 of today. I am trying to find out the years it changed.

The average ACT score in the USA is a 21. The highest possible score on the ACT however is a 36. To get into a college like UCSD, the average seems to be like a 26-32. So a good score would probably be a 25-29 but a great score would be a 30-36!
