The Holocaust was the Nazi's program during the Second World War. It was carried out to kill people they considered to be undesirable. Some 6 million Jews perished during the war along with Poles, Gypsies, Communists, Socialists, and many others as well. Some effects were the establishment of the state of Israel, a change in the conscience of Jews, and the invention of a systematic body of international law and human rights. This event compared to other similar incidents in world history are basically the same; mass murder in countries we dislike.
