The FAMAS (Fusil d'Assaut de la Manufacture d'Armes de Saint-Étienne) assault rifle was first featured in "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" and was in the following two "COD" games, "Modern Warfare 2" and "Black Ops," the latter being the last game in the series to feature the assault weapon.
*In both "Modern Warfare" videogames, the FAMAS was a three-round burst weapon, but the model in "Black Ops" was fully automatic. The guns were the same weapon in all three games in title only considering that "Black Ops" takes place during the Cold War. The modern-day FAMAS is less bulky than its older, prototype predecessor used in "Black Ops" and features a carry handle above the shell ejector with a built-in tactical rail for gun sights.
