Looks like the last total eclipse of the Moon was on August 1, 2008.
There are generally two solar eclipses and two lunar eclipses each year. Depending on the precise alignment of the Earth-Moon system, we sometimes get two partial eclipses instead of one of the total ones; 2009 is such a year. This year, we get three penumbral and one partial lunar eclipses.
