The industrial revolution helped people with things like sewing, and weaving. Machines were built to make life easier.
It didn't because it was gross
In the beginning of the Industrial Revolution, life expectancy plummeted due to filthy living conditions, dangerous working conditions, etc. However, in the later years of the Industrial Revolution, people began to improve their sanitation of themselves and the city, jobs were reconstructed to be more safe, etc. which all led the life expectancy to regrow to the highest it had ever been. Basically, in the beginning of the I.R., life expectancy was higher in the country than in the city, but was vice versa at the end of the I.R.
The trend toward city life, or urbanization, was caused by industrialization. Many families left their farms to work in factories in the cities.
