The Lord's Prayer was given as a model for prayer. Jesus was teaching against the vain repetitious prayers of hypocrites. The prayer has words of praise, confession, thanks giving, and supplication. See Matthew chapter 6.

The Lord's Prayer was given as a "Disciples Prayer", and this Prayer is not given to us to let us try to get God agree with us or provide our selfish desires. But this prayer was given to affirm God's Sovereignty, righteousness and to seek conform our desires and our purposes to His will and glory alone.
