In 1907, Theodore M. Davis's team uncovered a small site containing funerary artifacts with Tutankhamen's name, but it was not the tomb of Tutankhamen. Theodore M. Davis is credited with discovery of Horemheb.

Howard Carter had discovered the tomb of Tutankhamen on November 4th, 1922. However, Howard Carter was not the only person to enter the tomb of Tutankhamen for the first time. It was invaded well before Carter's discovery. It is assumed that someone else had entered the tomb of Tutankhamen not long after he was buried and it was perhaps well before Carter's discovery.
