There were lots of messages of Nazism... they were big Nationalists, believing that their nation was the best, that the group was more important than the individual, that Germany could rise from the ashes and be great. ... And they were. And the Nazis accomplished some great things and united a people... but the positive things were really hard to hear over the genocidal hatred for anything outside their invented racial boundaries. Just like giving disease-ridden blankets to Native Americans, or other genocidal and hate-filled actions that have filled humanity's past, if there is anything that we as human beings have to hate about ourselves and our ancestors, and remember so that it is never repeated... it is this. The Holocaust obliterated everything that the Nazis ever did that was positive and made it meaningless. To say the word Nazi now is to say "bigot" or "the devil" or worse. ... And hopefully, we as humans will learn from that and never repeat those mistakes again.
