Operation refers to the German invasion of the Soviet Union (USSR). It took place on 22nd June 1941 and ended just over 5 months later on December 5th 1941.
USSR in Construction ended in 1941.
Fieldmarshal Rommel was not involved in the invasion of the USSR. When he commanded the 7th Panzer division it was in Belgium and France for the most part. When he left the 7th Panzers in Feb of 1941 that division went to the Eastern Front with a new commander Generalmajor von Funk.
