Atatürk - Father of the Turks - given in 1935 after he had introduced surnames as part of his secular modernisation programme.

It is worth noting that it is illegal under Turkish law for any person not descended from Mustafa Kemal to take the last name Atatürk, in order to preserve it as Mustafa Kemal's unique legacy.
