Jesus is described very differently in the book of Revelation than in the Gospels.

In the opening chapter we see Jesus described as John saw him, in all His glory. It was a fearful sight to John. Most think of Jesus as meek and mild, which He is. But He is much more than that. In His first coming He came to "seek and to save the lost." He showed us the heart of the Father for lost humanity. He came as the "lamb of God" to suffer and die on the cross for all mankind.

In Revelation we see a much different Jesus. Just as each of us could be described differently at different times in our lives, so it is with Jesus. First and foremost, Jesus is God. As God He is Holy. The "glory" that surrounds Him is described as "inapproachable light." He now sits on the throne with the Father. He is "King of Kings and Lord of Lords."

He is also seen as the "lion of Judah." This is not "meek Jesus." Toward the end of Revelation we see Jesus robed in majesty returning to earth to destroy those gathered against Jerusalem in the last days, and to put Satan in "the pit" for 1,000 years. There will be nothing meek about Jesus at the second coming.

To His own He will be gracious and giving. To the rest He will be judge, jury and executioner. Now is the time to come to Jesus. Later is too late.

Is your name in The Bible?

No, my name is not in the bible, BUT it is in the Lamb's book of life, which is far more important. In order to get your name in the book of life you have to accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father accept by Me." Consider taking this most important step. Look at Revelation 20: 11-14 to find out what happens to people who are not written in the Lamb's book of life.

Why is it named church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints?

Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (commonly known as the "Mormon" church) believe that it was given that name by Jesus Christ in revelation to Joseph Smith. This revelation is now contained in the Doctrine & Covenants section 115. It says "For thus shall my church be called in the last days, even The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints." This revelation was given in 1838. For the eight years prior to this that the church was in existence, it had been known as "The Church of Christ." The official name of the Church is very important to most of it's members. The name means that this is the Church of Jesus Christ - it is a Christian Church operated directly by Jesus Christ and founded on His teachings and commandments. It also means that it's members should be living as "Latter-day Saints" or, as literal Saints who are living in the Last Days.

Is the proper name of the last book of the bible the revelations of St John the Devine?

No.Chapters, chapter headings, verses, book titles, etc., were added by translators of the original manuscripts as study aids, readability, etc... and were sometimes somewhat "less inspired" than the ones who wrote the books, and were not always correct in these endeavors when it came to understanding what was written. In the case of the book of Revelation... the title added by the KJV translators, "The Revelation of Saint John the Divine" is absolutely WRONG [on so many levels, in their religious piety] -- as verified by the very first words of the "inspired text":"THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST..." (Rev.1:1).The Revelation is Jesus Christ's... not John's. John merely wrote down what Jesus conveyed to him through a vision given to him by Christ's angel:"...He [Jesus] sent and signified it by His angel unto His servant John: who bare record of the Word of God, and of the testimony OF JESUS CHRIST [it's Jesus' revealing testimony... not John's], and of all the things that he saw." (verses 1-2)Revelation 1New King James Version (NKJV) Introduction and Benediction1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Himto show His servants-things which must shortly take place. And He sent and signified it by His angel to His servant John, 2 who bore witness to the word of God, and to the testimony of Jesus Christ,
