There are a number of neo-Nazi groups in the United States as well as the American Nazi party and all of these try to revive some form of Nazism and can therefore be regarded as fans of Hitler.
No, after Hitler got back from fighting in World War One, he joins the National Socialist German Workers Party which was called NAZI as a slang term. Hitler joined the party and quickly became an important member of the party.

Neither. The Nazi Party gained control of the country of Germany with Hitler as the prime minister. Germany formed an alliance with Italy and Japan. The Axis Power were the countries that agreed to defend and support one another. As far as a time-line goes, the Nazi party formed early in 1930's. The Axis alliance was not formed until 1939.
Nationalist/Natzi
No, the "zi" in Nazi does not stand for Zionist. The term "Nazi" is a shortened form of the German word "Nationalsozialist," which translates to National Socialist in English. The Nazi party, led by Adolf Hitler, was a far-right political party in Germany that promoted extreme nationalism and anti-Semitism, among other ideologies. The term "Zionist" refers to a movement advocating for the establishment of a Jewish homeland in Israel.
The Nazi party was formed in 1918 and grew out of smaller political groups which formed in the final years of World War 1, all with a nationalist orientation. The party was intially called the German Workers' Party (DAP), but changed its name to the National Sozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (Nazi) in 1920. Anton Drexler formed a branch of the Free Committee for a German Workers' Peace on 7 March 1918 and on 5 January 1919 a new political party, which became the Nazi party, was formed out of this branch. This political party was based on ideas of opposing the Treaty of Versailles, being anti-Semitic and viewing Germans as part of the Aryan or master race of the world. Initially the DAP was a very small party with fewer than 60 members. Nevertheless, it still attracted attention of German authorities and a young corporal, Adolf Hitler, was sent to investigate the DAP. Hitler then got involved in a heated argument while attending one of DAP's public events and made an impression on the DAP members because of his oratory skills. Hitler was then invited to join DAP by Drexler and he became the party's 55th member. Hitler then started to do a lot of propoganda work for the party and eventually became its main speaker. He became the chairman of the party on 28 July 1921. During 1921 and 1922 the Nazi party grew significantly and after Hitler was released from prison in December 1924, afther the beerhall putsch, the Nazi party became less of a paramilitary organisation and eventually rose to power in 1933 with Hitler becoming the Chancellor of Germany in 1933. The Nazi party was the ruling party in Germany from 1933 to 1945.
Here It Is: "The leader of the Nazis, Adolf Hitler, killed millions of Jews in a horrible and unimaginable way, trying to get rid of every single one of them." Nazi is just the short form of the name of a German nationalist party who happened to receive a leader named Adolf Hitler. It is no different in a sentence than saying, "Obama, a democrat, is the current president of the United States of America."
12 years. He was in full power from 1933 until he killed himself in 1945(The end of ww2).
