What was said to happen to people who touched the Ark of the Covenant?

this is the answer nobody on earth will know, but maybe not in our lifetime someone will find out but there is meant to be several possible/plausible locations for the Ark of the covenant.
According to The Bible, he who touched the Ark of the Covenant itself (not the extended poles) would die instantly.

∙ 14y agoDepends. One Hebrew died in the O.T. when the horse pulling the cart stumbled and he put his hand out so it wouldn't fall off the cart. (They were supposed to have the proper people carry it). Later when Babylon razed the temple and probably destroyed the ark nothingindependently happened to the individuals that did it. Of course folklore claims the ark is now everywhere except at my house. If any of this is true, they haven't died either unless they are somehow the proper people to carry it.

∙ 11y agoIt was a capital penalty, at the hands of God (2 Samuel ch.6).
(Note that the Ark of the Covenant is not the same as the Ark in a Synagogue which carries no such penalty.)

No. The covenant with the Jews is for all time and they are still His chosen people. This is irrespective of the disobedience and scoldings they have received from God over time - the covenant remains.
