"Yedo" People recently spell it Edo. It doesn't matter but I personally hate spelling "Edo" because most of the European maps in 18th century write it Yedo as Japanese in 18th century pronounce 'ye' where recent people pronounce it 'e'; at least European such as dutch people must have heard it 'ye'. You can even lecture Japanese people about spelling "Yedo" :D if you know the knowledge above. I suppose Japanese "yen" is the same (I am not sure, though.).
