Israel didn't exist in 1946.

The issue between the Zionists (who would eventually become Israelis) and Truman in 1946 was that they were unsure of where he stood on the creation of a Jewish State. It was also very difficult for Jewish Zionists to meet with Truman as his wife refused to allow Jews into the home, so they were left to guess his policies for a while. It looked for a while that Truman would not support the Jewish bid, until Chaim Weizmann was able to get a meeting with Truman outside of his house and they came to an understanding and agreement on Israel.

What two antagonistic doctrines were involved with the President Truman actions regarding the 1952 steel strike?

The conflicting doctrines involved with President Truman's on the steel industry seizure revolved around two areas of contention. One view was that a US president had the legal authority, inherent in the Constitution to act on his own on behalf of the nation in cases imperious necessity; and the Court's view, that however dire the situation, there could be no excuse for a US president to act contrary to the very Constitution he had sworn to protect. This, for example is what President Lincoln had done in various situations where he suspended habeas corpus in the nation as a whole or in specific states as he did in Maryland.

Who was the U.S. President at the time of the Hiroshima bombing?

Harry S. Truman was the President of the United States who accepted the responsibility for authorizing the use of the first atomic bomb on the Japanese at Hiroshima. This was a courageous decision, necessary to bring the war in Japan to an end as soon as possible. Although it cost the lives of many in Japan, it undoubtedly saved the lives of many thousands of American men.Because of the tactics used by the Japanese, specifically their tendency to defend to the death, conventional war on the mainland of Japan would likely have resulted in the deaths of many hundreds of thousands more Japanese (both military and civilian) than were killed in the atomic blasts. As the U.S. was determined to win the war, and because the Japanese were so fiercely defending their homeland, losses on both sides would have been terrible.
