There was no clear way, you could be selected at any time for any or no reason.
The sole purpose of Treblinka was to kill victims as soon as practical after arrival. It was not a labour camp or 'conventional' concentration camp. A very small number of new arrivals were selected to help the Nazis with the extermination process.
