the scenerey in the Globe Theatre during Shakespeare's time was very loud and smelly. The people who acted in shakespear's play's were all men or young boy's even if there were girl parts.
There was not a lot of scenery used at the Globe Theater. However, there were props used like benches, knives, chairs, and armor.
The new Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in London, which is about twenty years old, was designed to look as much as possible like the Globe Theatre built in 1599. If you look for images of that theatre you will see what it looked like.
it looks like a round globe
it looks like a globe
The outside of the original Globe Theatre looked very much like Sam Wanamaker's modern Globe theatre in Southwark. We don't know what the original Globe looked like inside. (The inside of the modern Globe is copied from some drawings we have of the inside of the Star - a slightly less famous Jacobean theatre).
At the Globe Theatre, scenery was primarily established through minimalistic design and the use of suggestive language in the plays. The stage featured a simple structure with a thrust stage and a backdrop, often adorned with painted curtains or banners to indicate different settings. Additionally, playwrights like Shakespeare relied on vivid descriptions and dialogue to evoke imagery, allowing the audience's imagination to fill in the visual gaps. This approach emphasized the actors' performances over elaborate physical scenery.
the globe theater is shaped like an ''o''
For entertainment. Movies weren't around in those days soinstead of going to the cinemas like we do, they went to the theatre :)
