Actually there was no Government amongst we the Shoshone Native Americans, we were lead by our Chiefs, and only age, hunts & kills, which when you became an elder determined your status...
We had no Words for Senators, or President, We Were Chiefs, Shaman's or Braves in Some tribes, and Wives.
The European came here with wars, and implemented Politics in Tribal Affairs.
And in order to be accepted they would mate with native women, in order for their seed, to be in line for Chief. Eventually the word was implemented into US politics.
ie... President ________ Commander in Chief.
But only after Treaties were put in Place, and the word was used then as a form of Mind trickery to get Natives to accept a European Leader, Claiming to run Turtle island, now called America.
Shoshones
Sacagawea helped the corps of discovery by guiding them through the the land of the Shoshones.
They lived in longhouses

The Shoshones had a positive attitude towards the Lewis and Clark expedition as they were able to establish friendly relations and trade with them for much-needed supplies such as horses. The expedition also helped the Shoshones by assisting in resolving conflicts with rival tribes.
Nobody knows for sure but I think it depended on where the Shoshone were.
i don't know how they did but, there language is a dialect of the Indian group the Shoshones.

1) Sacajawea was able to obtain horses and additional guides from the Shoshones because one of her brothers, that she has not seen since she was captured, was a chief, which made her able to get all of the additional guides and horses she needed.
