∙ 11y agoThe Corpus Juris Civilis (Body of Civil Law), termed Justinian code in the Renaissance has been used as the basis for the civil law in many modern countries. It was a comprehensive compendium of centuries of imperial enactments which scrapped redundant or elapsed enactments and amended obscure passages.
The breath of this work has been an inspiration for law students since it was rediscovered in a library in Pisa in 1070.
