To labs vertically with crops and medical supplies.
Vertical Envelopment, or the use of helicopters in combat, was first introduced in the Korean war.
The Korean war was the first time Vertical Envelopment was used, or the use of helicopters to assist troops in battle.
Korean War 1950's, note it is not asking when did the first helicopter was used...it is asking the first widespread of helicopters
No, airplanes came first
Heinkel made the first for Nazi Germany, but now Boeing and Sikorsky are well-known companies for building helicopters
Those are the helicopters designed by Aerospatiale (which was later merged into Eurocopter). IIRC, the first model to use it was the Dauphin.
When they were first invented they were not for sell yet
Jets were introduced by the Nazi's towards the end of WWII. Helicopters debuted for the Americans in Korea. Admitting that the question itself is requesting a subjective answer, I'm tempted to say the first war to see extensive use of both jets and helicopters was Viet Nam, but that was only a conflict, so I guess the first American war to see extensive use of both jets and helicopters was Gulf War I, and the first war in the world to see extensive use of both jets and helicopters was probably the Falklands War.
The Germans built a few experimental helicopters before WW2, but never put any into production. The first production German helicopter was the MBB 105, about 1966
the first plane was built in 1903 the first helicopter was built in 1909
Helicopters have improved and changed since they were first made. Many people and companies still work daily on improvements.
Nobody invented the helicopter in 1909
