It was hot.
Around the hills, Little Round Top, Cemetery Ridge, the land was strewn with Hugh boulders and trees. Other areas were rolling farm land. However, there were not as much corn fields as at Antietam.
A small town was on the north side of the battlefield, which housed civilians and was scene of some house-to-house fighting.
The battle took place in mid September so it most likely was a little chilly, but not super cold.
It was extremely hot and humid, thunderstorms broke on the third day.

The Battle of Antietam near Sharpsburg, Maryland ended Lee's first attempt to enter the North. It was fought on 17 September 1862 and the Emancipation Proclomation was issued on 22 September 1862 with an effective day of 1 January 1863.
