Richard J. Daley was first elected mayor of Chicago in 1955. He remained in office 'til his death in 1976. His son, Richard M. Daley, was first elected mayor in 1989 and remains in office today. He is on track to serve Chicago as mayor for more years than his father did.

I'm not sure if you're looking for the first mayor of NYC when the Dutch, British or the U.S. was in ownership of the city. The first "official" mayor was Thomas Willett, who was elected in 1665. First, a governor is in charge of a state (Massachusetts). It's a mayor that is in charge of the city-- in this case the city of Boston. The first, and only, black governor of Massachusetts is Deval Patrick. He was elected in 2006. There has not been a black mayor of Boston yet.
