You can use words like informed, instructed, shared, revealed, or mentioned instead of told.
The stories told through drawings of symbols are called petroglyphs or pictographs. These ancient forms of communication were used by indigenous peoples and early civilizations to convey narratives, record historical events, or communicate spiritual beliefs. The symbols are typically found on rock surfaces, caves, or other natural materials.
instructed, advised, informed
to shout, to whisper, to inform, to be told, to tell, to say...
In comics and cartoons, a lot of the story is shown visually rather than with words. Drawings and pictures/paintings can also tell intricate stories without using language, but it is somewhat more difficult medium for stories rather than just scenes, because they don't have different frames to indicate the passage of time. Movies and photographs can also do this (although they are often not drawn). If you remember the montage from UP where the old man looks through his picture book, we get the story of his life with his wife with very few written words. Animation is one way that cartoons and storytelling can come to life without language.
Use educated words and phrases, and make it sound like a sermon instead of a story told to your best mates.
Through the Pain - She Told Me - was created in 2006.
When you were told there would be no math, what did you anticipate or foresee happening instead?
I walked through the tree because it was hollow. She told me words of comfort but they sounded hollow and empty.
