Trench Warfare is a very poor way to fight any war. Basically, in WW1, you had the US and Germany fighting against each other. Each side would take a "time out" and constructs these massive trenches for their men to eat and sleep in. When the trenches were complete, the Generals of each side would line their men up in "waves" as the called them. Then, the first "wave" of men from the US side would climb out of the trench onto land, and run towards the German trenches. This posed a huge disadvantage to us because the German Forces had develped Machine Guns. Basically, any US man that climbed out of the trench was immediately taken out by the German machine guns. Very impractical, and very stupid way of fighting any war.
