Radioactive wastes that can last thousands of years
Under present world financial conditions I would say that the very high costs of building nuclear plants is a big problem. In the long term, dealing with the radioactive waste and decommissioning the plants safely.
In a nuclear power plant (nuclear reactor) the radioactivity of uranium is not a problem in normal work conditions.
Nuclear power plants produce electricity by using nuclear energy
Nope. Nuclear power is very enviromentally friendly and very efficient, but accidents can cause great damages. For instance, one of the major problems with the tsunami in Japan was all the nuclear plants that were destroyed.
Nuclear energy is generated in nuclear power plants, of which there are many.
fear of the waste.
- possible problem with pollution - possible problems with some accidents in nucear fuel plants or in nuclear reactors - nuclear wastes
You don't list the waste problems, so how can I answer? However radioactive waste is not a problem for a coal burning plant
The problem of disposing large amounts of nuclear waste is not resolved.
You are just crazy!! This would scatter radioactive contamination over a huge area and contribute absolutely nothing to cleaning up and containing the present problem.
High safety measures at the nuclear plants is to be observed if the nuclear disasters is to be prevented. The problems identified at the nuclear plant should be immediately rectified to prevent the nuclear disasters.
The problems currently being experienced are due to the combination of the earthquake and subsequent tsunami

pollutes the air thats all i know sorry

One of the benefits is that the plants almost never experience problems and it only takes a few people to run the plants. There are several inherent design problems:the plants are designed to produce plutonium for nuclear weapons as a side productthe plants are fuelled by relatively rare uranium rather than the more abundant thorium leading to an eventual fuel shortage due to problem abovedue to the use of uranium as the fuel the plants can meltdown unlike thorium reactors which just "die" when problems are encountered
